I am always amazed at our capacity to feel such intense, complicated, varying emotions. I am particularly drawn to capturing them-- they move me and make me feel connected. How beautiful are these moments when her mom sees her for the first time, and during a few of the toasts?

Melissa + Torrey and I had fun at our engagement session in Venice Beach last week. They have a bit of a birdcage theme for their wedding this November, so we thought it would be fun to incorporate Melissa's vintage bird cage in our engagement session. We walked probably 2 miles with this birdcage! Well, when I say we, I mean Melissa + Torrey. All I did was take the photos. We had so much fun, giggling and taking fun shots. I wanted to share some highlights from the shoot.
And then of course, a few without the birdcage... how cute are her shoes?
